Still More HK License Plates

I seem to be able to put together a never-ending collection of these...

Oh, how original...

Who cares how original you are if you're driving a Merc? Someone was honest about their shopping extravagance... And had a sense of humor to boot

Xerxes is a Persian king... (Not Greek God like everyone in the car thought... Did anyone tell this guy before he bid on this plate?)

Instead of 1 Big One, Steve decided to buy half a dozen Little Ones...

As in, toy car?

Let us assume they mean the car

I find this one sweet... I'm guessing anniversary or baby birthdate?

Fine, use big word on little car

And This Belongs To...

Trucker also joined in auction for license plate?

Mainland car (note bottom plate) decided to go Pinyin too, so us Chinese Illiterate peasants also get the message?

Cute car, cute plate...

Leeeavinggg, on a Jet Plate...

Oh, if wishing made it so. But we are, soon...

About Aileen

I blog about living and raising my son in Hong Kong - where toddlers have entrance interviews, parents keep test score spreadsheets, private school debentures can trade for more than half a million USD. Raising Rockstar's the most important thing I'll ever do. We show our true colors by the choices we make in bringing up our children. My blog is a message to my toddler son, about what the world and his parents are like today - for when he becomes a teenager and knows everything.

Hello again Aileen, did anyone ask you this before – if you were to bid for a car plate in HK – what would it say? And what about your husband? As for me, I wouldn’t be able to make up my mind what word/s to bid for.

If I was trying to b cool, I would probably need time to think about it.. Some of these guys set the bar high (I said “some”!) Without too much thought, I’d pick a date special only to our family… Frankly much cheaper too since it’s probably something no one else cares about.. (and for generic stuff lots of other people might want I expect prices can bid quite high)

When Stanchart introduced the commemorative HKD150 dollar bill lotsa ex colleagues bought serial numbers representative of important personal dates, most notably wedding anniversaries.. Since Kings n I have no idea what our anniversary date is, we bought one with Rockstar’s birthdate as serial number and will give it to him as bday present when he’s a little older n starts collecting stuff like stamps or foreign notes n coins
