A few things we did this weekend…
Noticed the statues were still strapped down after the last typhoon… (Sorry got more Kwah Chang ones I forgot to take – the ceramic statues had a kind of fishnet over them, not just the straps)…
Refereed a “sibling disagreement” – over nothing in particular – the appropriateness of the “NGEH” response.
And…. Oh yes.
Tesla (who makes electric cars) had a presentation/ test driving session in Cyberport (fine, it was an Asia Bankers Club event) yesterday, so guess what Rockstar wanted to do?
We had a wager whether the cars would look more like Lighting McQueen or Francesco Bernoulli.
Too bad we didn’t see a red car (not sure if someone was out with a red one)…
First thing Rockstar said looking at the pamphlets was, “Wah. So expensive.”
“How do you know?”
“This number is the price, right?” (Price tag he was pointing at was HKD 1,070,000).
So we told him you want to afford the big, expensive toys then study hard and come out get a good job (oops typical parent-talk alert)
And then after church on Sunday…
Rockstar ran into the corner of a bannister in the car park… And the Shangri La hotel people got us an ice pack and plasters FOC (well we ate lunch there)…
Rockstar insists he’s fine… So long as we don’t take the iPad away… But we’re keeping an eye on him anyway because that’s the worst bump he’s ever had, by a long shot…
And… the guy added… the plaster detail!
And so that was our weekend….. And it’s back to school week with a staggered start next couple days…
Owww, that looks like a big bad bruise/ cut. Hope it looks worse than it really is and that he heals quickly.
It’s obvious from the photo of Rockstar and the green car that he’s perfected the art of posing next to flashy cars ready to utter “S’up!” with a knowing nod when a pretty girl walks past 😉
Thanks dear, not much reaction from him except he refuses to go swimming now cos he doesn’t want to get the bandage wet…
Re the pose… It’s cute I guess when a small child does it, would be sometimes (only) cute when an older child does it unless there was irony in it (otherwise I’m kinda It’s Bad Enough If The Kid Bought That With His Own Money Somehow, It’s Worse If He Has That Attitude With Someone Else’s Money)…. And if a grownup does it I would find it creepy. Don’t care how hot the guy or car is 😀

Quick receovery for Rockstar, that cut quite deep. But I only see smiling photos, one brave boy there 🙂
Thanks Andy… Coming from someone with 3 boys who does big NS events that’s quite a compliment 😀
Ouch, the “mountain” Rockstar’s head looks very painful. I can only echo the sentiments here – that Rockstar is a very brave boy – not making any fuss over the cut on his forehead. The impact must have been great to have caused that.big bump.
Kings said there was a loud sound when he hit… I was a good 50 or more feet away in the noisy car park and didn’t hear it, when I saw him on the floor I figured he’d tripped… Will tell Rockstar ppl say he is brave, thanks!
