Occasionally I feel the need to tell everyone I’m a serial over-packer. And then I remember you already get pics.
9 hour flight, 2 hour stopover, then another 55 minutes to our destination; as always we travel with no help and it’s our first time with She Who Hates Cars who will now be making an acquaintance with Plane. That should be 3 meals and I want to do minimal washing up when we arrive and have to unpack (we also travel with bottle sanitizer, cot, stroller…!) hence all the disposables. We intend to throw-as-we-go, and btw you may want to check if your disposables leak – because every single one of those disposable feeding bowls I bought leaks.
Oh, we did manage to nix the breast pump though. Just barely. It was harder than expected, there were hormones involved (I got quite nauseous and a little moody).
Would’ve been a post all its own, but I’m running out of time. Maybe if I manage to fix my nightstand up something good, when we return… Meantime..
I so cannot do proper product reviews. But well here’s my experience with the 3 different breast milk bags – surprisingly the most expensive (if I recall correctly), on the right, leaked the most, when I then defrosted bags of milk. The middle one was the cheapest I think, and…. not bad. I really liked the Lansinoh ones – not a leak so far, and I’ve used lots and lots of bags…
Know when my traffic drops? When I don’t put pictures of my children every post.
2 trolleys of bags and boxes, one baby in a stroller. Baby in stroller was Rockstar’s responsibility. Because the other two trolleys were probably about his weight. (Naw, he’s also a super big bro most of the time!)
This is them joy riding across the airport to the proper gate…
And… and…
It was really not a very conducive flight for sleep. By the time they actually dimmed the lights, it was really late – and a 4-ish year old Asian girl seated nearby was VERY loud watching tv around 10-something, waking the baby who then took quite awhile to put back to sleep.
Morale of the story is you can plan and plan and pack and pack but the unknown is who else is on the flight. Everyone else was really wonderful.
And we had a little “brioche party”…
And then because we’d had a slight flight delay it was a mad rush to make our connecting flight…
(Because of the short night time sleep all 4 of us ended up sleeping at least a little way of the 55 min flight)
A-aand…….
Hint: Pr-obably not the cities mentioned on the screens, which is where those flights are from, in this baggage claim area…
ps: Sorry I’m slower than usual replying comments, wi-fi’s been slower than we’re used to, especially to access disqus
That is definitely an airport in Australia. I am hoping Adelaide because I am here! heh
Aw, that’s nice! Yes I really loved our visit to Adelaide, though this time round we are now in Canberra!
Thank you for blogging on the go. Wow! Can I hire you to pack my luggage for me? Hehehe but then I couldn’t afford it even if you are agreeable. You are really good at packing. I would have fainted to think that I have to pack so many things. Kudos to you!
Kudos to Rockstar too for taking good care of Miss Rockstar all the way. The Miss looks to be enjoying herself on her father’s lap eating away during the flight. So plane won over car. 🙂
Hope all of you enjoy your family time during this vacation!
Took me days to slowly pack as and when, so as not to be stressed out by it. Surprisingly I kind of enjoyed it (VERY surprisingly)…
Yes Plane beat out Car and thanks for the kind wishes!
Gives me the idea to pack disposable now for the plane ride 🙂 yes!!!!!
