We Β walk out of the plane and…. I’m amazed at how completely different this airport looks from the last time we were here.
Which is this airport?
Packing was a lot more last minute than previously; for one thing I didn’t have to dig up all the snow gear. However, an hour+ before we leave for the airport I discover our helper did not even re-pack the baby bag which would make up one of our hand carry luggage, from the last time I took the kids out to the furniture warehouse. Not wipes, not even to replenish the diapers. As I tear about the place, Rockstar looks up from a “last round of IXL before we hit the road”:
Rockstar: Y’know, this is also probably my last apple juice from the fridge.
Me: You really aren’t scared of me are you, even when I’m in a damn freaking bad mood.
Rockstar: Hee. No.
He gets his juice. Says a polite “thank you” with a grin, then turns back to the laptop.
Aha! So you are back to visit Msia!
Welcome back! Guess Rockstar must be very excited to be seeing his grand parents.
Hope all of you enjoy your visit here but please be extra vigilant at all times as there are snatchers around – best not carry handbags if you can help it.
Also do keep the children close to you and not let them out of your sight. Especially must forbid them from wandering off on their own.
Wouldn’t want William Yau’s case to be repeated – touch wood! touch wood! It was truly a very sad case. May he RIP.
Here’s wishing you and your family a good and pleasant stay in warm and sunny Msia!
Do write all about it when you can. Can’t wait to hear about your adventures in Msia. Take care and best wishes!
Thank you very much for the sound-out. It’s very much appreciated; can’t remember which of our Malaysian friends in HK it was who once remarked it is the Malaysians living abroad who might be at greatest risk of crime when we come back to visit because we have forgotten precautionary measures that are otherwise almost secondary nature to Malaysians living here.
Well a Malaysian mum friend did tell me she is “like a mad woman” when they go back and her son, unused to being kept on such short proverbial leash has to be constantly reminded not to wander – in HK the lower primary school boy takes the lift down to the mall nearby, navigating to and from his tuition classes alone. All the aunties can recognize him and give him a cheery hello, he is quite an articulate and talkative child.
Even for us, I remember one high school taekwondo team reunion many years ago when I was the only girl and as we walked along the tourist belt that night my friends handed me one of their loose baggy t-shirts to put on “so it’s not immediately obvious you are a girl” (I had very short hair then). And there were at least 3 black belts in the group.
Enjoy your trip π
Thanks Jessie π
