Me: So why did you go nuts, was it because you were tired or because you realized I would move on your 10 (IXL math) questions, and so you decided to push your luck?
Rockstar: <grins sheepishly> Because you would move… No wait, I was tired too. Half – half.
Me: But you were not really tired enough to go nuts?
Rockstar: No… Maybe only a bit. Hee.
Me: You’re not worried telling me that will get you in more trouble next time?
Rockstar: Umm……
Me: No it won’t. Because you get points for honesty <Rockstar nods>. At least I’ll find some other way to reward the honesty. So how come after going to bed you decided to take another shot at it?
Rockstar: I decided I wanted Youtube before sleeping after all. Hee.
ps: Part of me can’t wait til she can start participating in conversations for real – what hijinks waiting to happen, she’s already gabbling her way into our conversations like we’re supposed to understand everything she’s saying…
I can’t get over how cute she is!!!!! Post videos of her on youtube if you can! 😀
Thanks Iling and yes will put some up in a bit..
What an expression on Miss Rockstar’s face! Seems like she was trying to decide whether she likes the taste of the food or not and can’t make up her mind.
Oh, you gave Rockstar a multiple-choice-answer question and he chose both answers (a bit of both). During exams, I don’t think the answer “a bit of both” is acceptable.
I guess he must be really tired and didn’t want to do Maths anymore and then he changed his mind when he was comfortably in bed and wanted youtube as his bedtime story.
He is such a pure child that instead of throwing a tantrum and wanting his youtube fix, he just does according to the rule which is finish maths and then only youtube. How sweet and good he is. 🙂
Took awhile to answer as I was thinking about it… Whether what Rockstar was doing that night was too tough and he too tired… Unless he was for some reason super tired, maybe because he was fighting off a cold or something, he shouldn’t have crashed on that module… I mean I could just give you a flippant answer but honestly you’ve been following this blog for years, I think you know I’m not the pressure cooker sort… Thing with Rockstar is he’s been known to make more mistakes in easier stuff, either because he gets bored and doesn’t want to do it, or else just super careless. There are modules to his login that can show a lot more mistakes on easier sums and then hardly any on slightly more complicated problems. Idly I’ve even wondered if someday I end up having a conversation about it if someone monitoring the data picked it up, because it would simply look like he’s getting help on the hard sums since he appears online to be making more mistakes on the easier ones. The biggest irony is I have to check his easier ones more because he gets careless, then frustrated (the system will automatically keep adding more sums to the module if you get some wrong), then angry and occasionally bawling. He does the harder ones more seriously and carefully. (Of course if too difficult then he’ll still shut down la..)
Yes, I know you are not the pressure cooker sort. Thank you for giving this reply serious thoughts before answering. You do know that I appreciate your replies. 🙂
