Around 1.30 am this morning the Miss woke me. Like any nurturing mummy (blogger) I check my phone after escorting her to the bathroom and back (not because she’s scared, but because she might otherwise attach herself to the poor sleeping dog on the floor), and I see the Selamat Hari Merdeka (Happy Independence Day) messages have started to come in. Then over and over again in my head:

Love this song ok… Some of these old songs are really, really nice… A reminder of old times… Anyone else from SRK St Monica, Sandakan, who still can’t get this out of their head? I actually met someone from my old primary school at Merdeka Ball 2015. (He then went to St Michaels; my parents brought me back to where they’d grown up in Penang, for Secondary School)
ps: Thought I could finish blogging Merdeka Ball today and post that as Selamat Hari Merdeka post, but I couldn’t – way too much eye candy – by way of people, by way of numbers.
