Every Dog Needs A Rockstar Needs A Dog

Kings periodically puts some of my iPhone videos together with a song he likes and I’d been wanting to post the first clip for sometime, this is Rockstar’s morning ritual with JD. (Note facial expression of dog…)

And here’s another one with the sound on (caveat: the recorder-playing is a little annoying)… Duet between Rockstar and dog…

JD doesn’t get enough credit for Rockstar, the care and raising of. She was often the first in the home to know when baby Rockstar was about to start crying, she would run over and stand anxiously outside his bedroom door seconds before he started up. They annoy each other constantly, taking each other’s things, bumping and grumbling at each other.

When either is around, the other wants more attention. When either is gone, the other worries.

Rockstar playing Wheels On The Bus... Don't be fooled by the fact the passenger is standing, the bus driver will not sufffer passengers trying to alight while the bus is moving... Shortly after this pic was taken he saw her and yelled for her to sit down and buckle her seatbelt (no, she doesn't really take orders from him)

And with that, have a great week ahead! 🙂

PS: Here’s how we got our dog to accept our baby

Awww! I love love love the videos so much. jd and rockstar are too precious! Sayand jd, sayang rockstar. 🙂 i always walk away from your blog wanting to give a big hug to rockstar. Today, i’m wrapping jd up too 🙂

    • Aileen says:

Haha yeah I sayang them so much thanks… My only small regret is when Rockstar is big enough to seriously run and train with her on an Agility pitch she might possible be too old… She’s 8 now, we’ve started giving her vitamin supplements to avert joint pain hopefully for a couple more years..

Really heart warming videos of Rockstar playing with JD! JD is really such a gentle dog. How did you train her to be so gentle?

    • Kingston Lai says:

By giving her a Rockstar who will occasionally pull her tail or ears… hahaha…

Hi Mun, in case anyone else is reading Kings’ reply to u n doesn’t realize my hub can have a bizarre sense of humor….. She’s a trained border collie and I communicate it to her that I needed her help to watch and raise the little bundle we were holding that was just screaming bloody murder (he used to do that a lot, my inlaws wud say things like what’s WRONG with him???)

      • zmun2 says:

Not only gentle, JD is one smart nanny! 🙂

        • Aileen says:

erm when he was a baby yeah guess so, then they progressed to partners in crime because Rockstar started feeding the dog food he didn’t want to eat (usually meat), nowadays each one struggles for the upperhand in something resembling sibling rivalry – one growls, the other snaps, both are bosssy… it would seem that my son speaks dog.

Wow you have an awesome dog! I want to show that video to everyone I know who abandon their pets because of a baby or tells others to abandon their pets! It makes me angry everytime. JD is one cool dog

    • Aileen says:

Yes she is. We’re lucky to have her. All the family members who nagged us about getting rid of the dog when the baby came have nothing to say now. Especially when everyone sees how amazing JD’s been for Rockstar’s development.

One of her trainers used to say – there are no bad dogs, only bad owners. You are the owner, supposedly you’re smarter than the dog, how can you not figure out how to handle the animal and instead let it get the better of you?
