The nice people at Awesome Hotel We’re In (more later) put the hat on Rockstar when we passed by their New Year’s Eve party, and exclaimed “Michael Jackson!”
And so Happy New Year 2014 from “Michael Jackson!”. If “Michael Jackson!” had excited baby sister in feathered headband who bounced up and down in the lift on the way back to our room yelling “Hat! Hat!!” delightedly.
And so we all looked at the humble, paper hat with new eyes.
New Year’s Resolution: See more things with joyful new eyes for all He has blessed us with. (But do the maniacal gleeful grin on the inside because it’s quite creepy if you’re not under 2. Especially in Hong Kong.)

Just look at Miss Rockstar’s gleeful grin in the photo. She was really fascinated by the hat. Was her headgear from the Amazing Hotel People too? Did she look at herself in the mirror?

Yes her headgear is from Amazing Hotel People and yes she did look at herself in mirror but only briefly, mostly she was just really taken by the fact they were both wearing hats..

It’s a spring-loaded foldable ball he got from another gift shop… not related to NY festivities, and JD has since filched it from his back pack 😀 he then agreed to let her have it cos he got new Star Wars Lego after his souvenir snow globes (he collects snow globe souvenirs from our travels) somehow broke… that’s the first time that’s happened ever…
