Rockstarism #197 – Putting A Face To The Imaginary Friends and Others…

#197

"The Friends"

Rockstar still likes to scrawl really quick “cartoons” with a perm marker… “Lunarotato” is a new one, we agreed on the spelling after Rockstar explained “It rhymes with ‘potato’…” We haven’t decided if he’s a robot because on the one hand all moon equipment names start with “Lunar-something,” but then Rockstar also insists he needs a helmet, implying he breathes Oxygen. (For real – we reached this impasse this morning…)

Both Lunarotato and Zippety wear helmets, but not Yeeka. Rockstar initially said “He just doesn’t wear the helmet in the ship cos it would make him crazy,”

but has recently conceded he’s an alien.
(I know, it’s amazing how I went from derivative investment products to being fascinated by this)

Also interesting (fine, kind of) is that Yeeka is much taller and expecting a baby brother – like one of Rockstar’s friends from another class who towers over him…

———————————————————————————-

Me: When you inhale, what do you breathe?

Rockstar: Oxygen!

Me: Very good, and when you exhale?

Rockstar: When I exhale….. Air comes out.

Me: You forgot “Carbon Dioxide,” didn’t you?

Rockstar: Yeah. Hee.

———————————————————————————-

Me: Daddy’s cooking Bak Kut Teh tonight. Let’s go out there and say “Mmm, what’s that yummy smell?”

Rockstar: Or, we could jump out at him and say “BOO!!”

I can’t believe that I miss out this post. Luckily I have subscribed to your blog and received this by email.

His cartoon is really full of character. The names look almost like print font – nice hand writing. Are there any more sketches?

On the bathroom mirrors and windows in steam… Also some rocket ship ones (of course) but if he’s allowed to carry on they eventually turn into a mess of crazy wind/friction lines passing over the ship when it’s flying, exhaust flames and dust when it’s taking off etc… Think I managed to save one before it got covered in wind/friction/exhaust flames 😀

Yeah his handwriting (upper case that is) is ok, almost better than mine (I have quite bad handwriting :P) but he doesn’t space – so for sentences > 1 word, if you don’t sit there and constantly remind him to space between the words itallcomesoutlikethis. Actually a bit strange, I wonder why he doesn’t see the spaces?
