The Making Of Rockstar’s Archangel Michael

So Rockstar initially named the angel Gabriel, who tells Mary about the Birth of Jesus, but then we realized (yes, together – shame on me) that it is actually the archangel Michael, who is depicted with sword and armor. (Honestly, I think he’s more Gabriel, but he wants a sword and it’s doable and I love him, what else am I gonna do? I wonder if Texans think this with their guns :))

Rockstar disappears up his Lego Headquarters Loft and returns with two curved ninja katana, but they are…… too ninja katana-looking.

And then this happened. Of course.

And then this happened. Of course.

I couldn’t get the katana away from her when it was time for a bath. So katana went with.

Um… This might not bode well for future boyfriends?

And just as well there are no Ninja Turtles in the Christmas story. Because then there would be Ninja Turtles welcoming the birth of the King. Rockstar would see to that. But back to Michael. There’s a sword. Rockstar should really be content with that.

First attempt - Rockstar trying everything on for size - but stuff keeps falling off easily

And so on an excursion to Toys Club over the weekend, we come away with a medieval long sword (which I secretly think is almost as long as Rockstar 😀 I asked him if he could walk with the thing attached to him and he insisted he could) for HKD 28, a medieval armor breastplate, short sword and axe for HKD 80, angel wings and halo HKD 70 and two baby toy ties for HKD 39 from Bumps to Babes to tie the stuff together so it doesn’t all fall off Rockstar when he moves about.

Obviously, I hope to reuse these...

In fact, also these.

In fact, also these.

Little Miss gets very jealous of the wings. “Buhrd! Bihrd! Bihrd!!!” There….. might be a little hope yet?

And so.......

And so, after her bath…….

A thing about Books and Covers comes to mind. Hee hee hee.

Rockstar is nonplussed. “She can have them, after I finish the show<shrugs>”

He eyes the halo with trepidation and refuses to wear it because of the hairband.

So we’d have been almost done, except……. then I thought I should at least read through the specific Bible verses about Archangel Michael (calling myself “Christian” and all – figured at the very least I should be making sure I don’t commit some jarring sartorial faux pas). And this is when I find:

Revelation 12:7 – And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Rockstar has a big fat dragon on his chest plate. Since I now know, I probably shouldn’t send Rockstar up there as Michael-who-fought-the-dragon, wearing a dragon chest plate.

(<sheepish> I forgot that I have almost never touched on Revelations except to listen to it on tape couple years ago. I mean, I tried about a decade ago when I first became Christian, had been advised to start on the Gospels, and now realize much later that in pretty much all the Bible studies I’ve been in since, they weren’t doing Revelations.)

Damn, it’s a big freaking golden dragon right smack on his chest plate and it’s pretty. So I unscrewed it and gave it to Little Miss.

Now I have to figure out what to do about it....

Now I have to figure out what to do about this….

...Though no one else seems to mind.

The chest plate armour looks fine without the dragon.

So did Miss Rockstar admire herself with the pretty wings in the mirror?

Very good question – now that you mention, I just realized she actually doesn’t dress up to look at herself much at all. She tries stuff on and then walks about with it – for the wings she was kinda doing squats up and down to feel the wings moving… She does make faces in the mirror and will look at herself for awhile if you point out the mirror, but not much more for dress ups…

I eventually used a huge amount of tape to stick something on… more on that in a bit…
