Ps: You do get cows quite often in Sai Kung… Take note, Mr Blake – Hong Kong Cows don’t just stand and stare, they navigate busy traffic for a munch…
(Have seen street mutts really good at navigating busy intersections, and padding about on the narrowest of barriers between very busy roads… It’s just funny how animals here can also learn to get so used to the hustle and bustle… The eagles roosting in the tall buildings (usually the old ones) are real fast and opportunistic at grabbing lunchtime sandwiches too… To date I’ve lost 2 Subways at the Peak – roast beef and mustard, mind you… Fast and opportunistic – same words I would use to described the HK stock market…)

I think the street mutts in KL are not that good at navigating busy KL roads as I often see gruesome roadkills while driving.

The sweetest thing shortly after we got here and used to live in Pok Fu Lam was locals telling us one day that some kids threw a bunch of stray mutts off a pier.. Some dog-lovers call the police, who spent an hour fishing the dogs out on a cold 10-degree night..

Yeah I thought it was pretty awesome too! All the little kids who came up to us saying “BIG bird took my sandwich!” We didn’t believe them til it happened to us… Those birds are real smart – one time the bird swooped the moment i turned to pick up my cellphone.. Both times, not a scratch on me – but the flapping wings in your face as they fly by is a little unnerving
I love Sai Kung, I saw a cow near Talas this week having a munch in the bushes, not sure if this was the same one…they’re so tame and ppl take photos with them all the time, they are like the celebrities of SK but I wonder where they go and sleep at night!
Haha maybe! Another time I posted a picture of a turtle about the size of a dinner plate that someone brought to a pet-friendly restaurant and a reader said he’d been there that same day too!
