Rockstarism #276 – Why Would Anyone Want A Girlfriend

#276

Me: So who’s on your table these days?

(Rockstar promptly names about half a doz classmates)

Me: Oh, do you play with <girl he’s never mentioned before>?

Rockstar: No, not much. She doesn’t play the games I like.

Me: Girly games?

Rockstar: Like, ponies. She plays ponies. Actually, a lot of girls like ponies. <nodding knowledgeably>

Me: Oh, so now we know the secret to getting girls.

Rockstar: Huh? Pardon?

Me: I was being funny. Girls like ponies. So the secret to getting girls is getting a pony.

<pause>

Rockstar: Sarcasm?

Me: I didn’t really mean it that way, it was just funny how you informed me lotsa girls like ponies.

Rockstar: Mum. Did you know if the male cricket wants a girlfriend he rubs his legs together? I learnt that in school.

Me: Why don’t they need a pony?

Rockstar: No, why would they want a girlfriend. (Mutters) They don’t even play the games you like. Tsk!

Plays Ponies? Plays with ponies toys or ponies video games or riding real ponies?

Sorry, I am so out of touch with what little girls like to play with nowadays.

JD looks like she is guarding and looking after Rockstar in the photo above.

Firstly, my bad – that should be “Ponies” with a capital P. Secondly I asked Rockstar and he initially insisted it was a video game. But then it turns out the girls apparently skip about on pretty pretend ponies and I insisted that is probably not a real video game.

Of course, with the HK Jockey Club and another riding school not too far away…….. 😀 Kidding – I don’t think they’re real horses, albeit I found out belatedly one of my doctors owns a race horse. For real. But I don’t think that’s technically a pony…. haha
