Rockstar’s been excited about his upcoming school Christmas show…
Rockstar: (In between singing various bits of songs)…. And so as one of the narrators I get to choose what I want to dress up as. I want to be a Roman soldier.
Me: Ok…. ok……
Rockstar: …..Or God. Roman soldier or God.
Me: You’re thinking of dressing up in your Year 2 Christmas show as GOD????
Rockstar: <reasonably> Or, a roman soldier. I haven’t decided.
Me: Your choices are between…. a roman soldier and God? What do you think God wears?
Rockstar: Roman soldier, then. Definitely, roman soldier.
Me: <mildly offended> Oh, and now roman soldiers dress better than God? Why???
Rockstar: They’ve got swords!
Me: You don’t think – no, I’m not having this conversation – wait, yes I am, I want to know – you don’t think God could make swords?
Rockstar: Sure, but He doesn’t carry them. His helpers carry them. Ok, I want to be one of God’s helpers. But not God. God doesn’t carry swords.

Rockstar: <making sword movements> Shhhhhhwing!
Haha. What logic is that?
A balloon sword is much better than a real one as it can’t hurt anyone and is much more fun to play with. What about a Roman soldier with a balloon sword! Will that work?

Yes I can see the photo but Rockstar was not dressed as a Roman soldier. Now for Rockstar to be in a Roman soldier costume with a balloon sword. 🙂
